Giving Back

Being a Christian steward means first giving yourself completely to the Lord.  He has given us His all and wants our all in return.   Through stewardship, we can honor God by giving of our time, our talents, and our resources to strengthen and expand His kingdom.  Your role as a steward is vital to the growth of our church.

Stewardship begins with our understanding that everything we have comes from God.  This includes our time, talents and all our financial resources. 

Giving Back . . . Tithing

 ¹⁰ Bring the whole tithe into the storehouse, that there may be food in my house. Test me in this,” says the LORD Almighty, “and see if I will not throw open the floodgates of heaven and pour out so much blessing that there will not be room enough to store it. ¹¹ I will prevent pests from devouring your crops, and the vines in your fields will not drop their fruit before it is ripe,” says the LORD Almighty.  ¹² “Then all the nations will call you blessed, for yours will be a delightful land,” says the LORD Almighty.  Malachi 3:10-12 (NIV)

When we are able to give 10% or more of our income instead of keeping that money for ourselves, it shows that our heart isn’t tied to our money and that we love God more than our money.

Giving Back . . . Service

 ¹⁰ God has made us what we are. In Christ Jesus, God made us to do good works, which God planned in advance for us to live our lives doing.  Ephesians 2:10 (NCV)

 ¹³ Do not let any part of your body become an instrument of evil to serve sin. Instead, give yourselves completely to God, for you were dead, but now you have new life. So use your whole body as an instrument to do what is right for the glory of God.  Romans 6:13 (NCV)
