Baptism and Picnic at Montague Lake

On Sunday, September 11, Macedonia members, families, and friends gathered for the baptism of 11 children, youth, and adults. A picnic was held immediately following.

Baptism offers such beautiful imagery. Indeed, it symbolizes both the Gospel message and the salvation experience. First, when we are immersed beneath the water, it is a reminder of how Christ died for our sin and was buried. When we are brought back up out of the water, it is a reminder that Christ rose from the dead, defeating the power of sin and death for us. Second, when we are immersed beneath the water, it is a reminder of how we are repenting of our sin, dying to the sinful nature, and being washed clean. When we are brought back up out of the water, it is a reminder of how we have new, abundant, eternal life in Christ.

It was a beautiful day of celebration and fellowship.

A special thank you to the Montague family for hosting us and the hospitality team for preparing the meal.
