Easter means different things to different people. When I was young, it meant new clothes and lots of candy. If I was good, I even got to bite off the ear of the chocolate rabbit before getting ready for church. Easter means so much more than that. Easter is not about egg hunts, the Easter bunny, new clothes, sunrise services, or a packed worship service. Easter is a special time when we take a look at the empty grave and celebrate the Resurrection of Jesus.
This year, why don’t you come celebrate the real meaning of Easter with us here at Macedonia. We do the eggs, the special services and all that goes along with it, but let’s keep in mind – It is all about a risen Savior, Jesus Christ.
Easter Egg Hunt & Luncheon – March 25
There will be an Easter Egg Hunt and Luncheon for all children and their families immediately following the worship service.
Maundy Thursday Meal & Communion Service – March 29
Please note that our regular Wednesday evening activities on March 28 will be cancelled. Instead we will be holding our annual Maundy Thursday meal and service. The meal will begin at 5:30 pm followed by the communion service at 6:30 pm.
Easter Community Sunrise Service – April 1 – 6:30 am
Please join us for our annual community sunrise service at Montague Lake – 10301 Penny Rd Raleigh, NC 27606. We will join with Swift Creek Baptist Church and Macedonia Methodist Church for this very meaningful service. Everyone is invited to this service. Come as you are, but bundle up because it might be chilly.
Decorate the Cross – April 1 – 11:00 am
During our regular worship time on Easter Sunday, everyone is encouraged to bring flowers (live or artificial) to participate with decorating the cross. This very meaningful activity is a wonderful, visual demonstration of how God used a horrible instrument of torture and death to not only defeat sin and death – but to bring eternal life from it! Come celebrate Easter with us.
