The devastation from Hurricane Helene is overwhelming. From conversations with those on the frontlines, we’re hearing it’s worse than what we see in the pictures.
As a church family, our mission is to Love God, Serve People, and Share Jesus, and we want to invite you to be a part of all three of those. We know your heart during a crisis has always been, “How can we help?”
Here are three ways we can make a difference together NOW:
At Macedonia, we believe that prayer should always be our first response, not our last resort. We believe there is power in prayer and invite you to join us as we lift up all those affected by the devastation of Hurricane Helene.
Please pray for those impacted by the hurricane and for those on the front lines. Pray for God's intervention and for strength for those offering aid. Psalm 34:18 reminds us, "The Lord is close to the broken-hearted and saves those who are crushed in spirit."
Pray for:
Provision for the Displaced: We ask for God’s provision for all who have lost their homes or have been forced to evacuate. May He provide shelter, food, and essential needs, knowing He is our great Provider.
Restoration of Infrastructure: We pray for the swift repair of vital roads, bridges, and services, especially for the over two million people left without power. May communities quickly rebuild and restore what’s been lost.
Comfort for the Grieving: For those mourning the loss of loved ones or facing the anxiety of being out of touch with family and friends, we ask for God’s peace to surround them—a peace that surpasses all understanding.
Strength for Responders and Volunteers: We lift up first responders, volunteers, churches, and relief organizations working tirelessly to aid in recovery efforts. May God grant them safety, strength, and wisdom as they serve.
Unity in Compassion: Finally, we pray for unity and compassion to prevail in these challenging times. May communities come together in love, support, and resilience.

A small donation can make a big impact. The goal of the NC Disaster Response Ministry is to provide ways for Christians to minister to people who are hurting due to disasters. Baptists on Mission is currently setting up recovery sites in Boone, Spruce Pine, Hendersonville, and Marion. Heavy rains from the storm caused massive flooding that washed out roads, destroyed homes and businesses, and knocked out power and phone service in much of the region. Use the link below to give to current efforts.
Baptists on Mission is responding in the aftermath of Hurricane Helene in the mountains of western North Carolina. We’ve set up large feeding units in Boone, Marion, and in Arden. In addition, we’re setting up recovery sites in Boone, Spruce Pine, Hendersonville, Marion, and several other areas.
Volunteers are helping with feeding, showers, and laundry, chain saw teams, tarping roofs, mudding and tearing out homes, and more. You don’t need to be trained to serve with some of these opportunities. Please know that we will have many opportunities to serve for many weeks, months, and years to come. Your team may very well be more needed a week or two or a month or two from now than they are right now.
